E9: The Sound of Music

What can The Sound of Music teach us about engaging students using music? We use music to teach kids the alphabet. It works great! Why do we stop? Maria and the Von Trapp children teach us a lesson in changing our strategy rather than resorting to the old stand by of saying things again, louder and slower. Also, Weston sings. Enjoy! Doe, a deer, a female deer…

Absolutely loved the Sound of Music podcast. Wes and Molly are not only entertaining and easy to listen to, they also share very valuable information about what it takes to be a more effective teacher. Use tools, techniques and strategies that will engage your students and music is definitely one of them. I look forward to tuning in again to learn more and have a few laughs as well.
